The Cabot Carbon/Koppers Superfund site has been on the CERCLA list since 1983.  In 2001, there was issued a Record of Decision (RoD) that was never implemented due to citizen objections to certain components.  In 2011, an updated Record of Decision has been issued that is significantly improved over the previous RoD.  This summer and fall we will have a Consent Decree and a Remedial Design issued by USEPA.  Then, the remediation of the site will begin.  Throughout the remediation process, citizen oversight is critical in ensuring that our community gets the best and highest use out of this site.  We need your participation now and in the future.
